When What You “Know” Doesn’t Match What You “Feel”

Approach

Many trauma survivors say, “I know it’s over—but it doesn’t feel over.”

Trauma lives in the body and nervous system, often long after the mind has made sense of it. My work focuses on bridging that gap—helping you not just understand your experiences, but feel safe, grounded, and truly free from them. Through EMDR, IFS, and psychodynamic and relational therapy, we work toward healing that’s not just intellectual, but deeply felt. Through this process, you’ll not only heal from the past but also step into a future where you feel more in control, connected, and aligned with your true self.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Lasting change happens when we go beyond surface-level struggles and uncover the deeper patterns that shape your emotions, relationships, and sense of self. My approach is grounded in psychodynamic therapy, which explores the unconscious beliefs and behaviors formed by past experiences, family dynamics, and early relationships. These patterns, often developed as coping mechanisms, can continue to influence your daily life in ways that no longer serve you.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy designed to help you process and heal from trauma, painful memories, and deeply rooted fears. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation—such as eye movements or tapping—to help your brain reprocess these experiences in a safe and structured way while reducing their emotional intensity. Over time, EMDR can help you gain relief from past pain, feel more in control of your emotions, and achieve greater clarity and confidence.

Internal Family Systems

IFS is a compassionate therapeutic approach that helps you understand, heal, and harmonize the many “parts” of yourself. These “parts” could include feelings of self-doubt, fear, anger, or shame from past experiences that stand in the way of feeling truly whole. In IFS therapy, you will learn to connect with the core, compassionate part of you that can lead your inner system with clarity and balance. This process empowers you to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and self-compassion.

Therapy isn’t about ‘fixing’ you—because you aren’t broken. It’s about supporting you as you heal, grow, and rediscover the strength that has always been within you.
